No trade name, no shareholders, no memorandum. One person and the work they do.
The freelance permit is a different application from a company, not a smaller one. There is no trade name to reserve, no shareholders to map and no memorandum — the licence issues in the name on your passport.
| Package | Price | Licence | What it carries |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | AED 3,000 | 1 year |

Each activity beyond the two included is AED 1,500, to a maximum of six. Prices as per the MCFZ tariff of 31 July 2026.
You choose the package at the start rather than at payment, because it decides what the rest of the form asks.
Freelance activities come from an approved list of 97, about half of which do not appear on the company licence at all. You pick one as your main activity.
There is no trade name, so nothing is reserved and nothing can be refused for a naming reason.
A sole professional licence carrying a unique permit number. There is no incorporation certificate, memorandum or shareholder resolution, because there is no company.
Your passport, your Emirates ID if you hold one, an accredited academic certificate relevant to what you will do, and evidence of the experience behind it — an employment letter or a CV. The certificate and the experience are both required, not alternatives.
The licence is issued in your own name and lists the activities you were approved for. It carries a QR code that verifies against MCFZ's own site.
Everything else we either read off the passport or ask for only when your answers make it necessary.
